Room Management
Organize your documentation into separate rooms - each with its own visual map canvas.
The Dashboard
Your room list shows all maps in a card-based grid:
- Room cards: Display name, device count, and assigned client
- Thumbnails: Preview images of each map
- Quick stats: Shows usage vs. plan limits
- Filter by client: Focus on specific projects
Users with only one room are taken directly to the Mapper instead of the Dashboard.
Creating a Room
- Click "Create New Room" on the Dashboard
- Enter a Name (e.g., "Server Closet", "Living Room", "Garage")
- (Optional) Select a Client to group rooms by project
- (Optional) Enter an Address with Google Maps autocomplete
- (Optional) Add Notes for access codes, WiFi passwords, etc.
- Click Create Room
Room Settings
Click Edit on any room card to modify:
- Room name
- Address
- Client assignment
- Notes
- Background image
Background Images
Upload a custom background for your map:
- Floor plans or blueprints
- Rack diagrams
- Site photos
- Supported formats: PNG, JPG, GIF
Devices appear over the background image, helping you position them to match physical layouts.
Navigating Between Rooms
- Dashboard: Click any room card
- Mapper dropdown: Use the room selector in the toolbar
- Room boxes: Double-click to navigate to connected rooms
- Global search: Find a device and click to go to its room
Cross-Room Connections
Link devices between different rooms:
- Right-click a device to open the cross-room connection menu
- Select the target room and device
- Connected rooms appear as "room boxes" on your map
- Double-click a room box to navigate there

Deleting Rooms
Click Delete on a room card to remove it:
- All connections within the room are deleted
- Cross-room connections to that room are also deleted
- Devices remain in your inventory but become unassigned
Warning: Room deletion cannot be undone.
Organization Tips
- By location: "Living Room", "Server Closet", "Garage"
- By system: "Main Network", "HVAC System", "Plumbing"
- By project: "Phase 1 Installation", "Pending Review"
- By client: Assign rooms to clients for professional workflows
